What the Job Involves

Reporting to the Head of Service, the Direct Services Lead Technician is key in the Reactive Repairs department. You manage a team of technicians to provide efficient property maintenance, delivering a high-quality, responsive service to residents, colleagues, and partners. Your role involves managing time and resources to meet KPIs, overseeing maintenance works to ensure high-quality execution, and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction through effective communication. The role is both office and site-based, with hybrid working possible. Key responsibilities include delivering repairs and maintenance services, ensuring compliance with regulations, supervising staff, managing stock and resources, maintaining communication with residents, and handling complaints.

Skills

  • Proven record managing Direct Labour Service with customer satisfaction focus
  • Relevant trade qualifications or experience in building/maintenance
  • Knowledge of statutory, regulatory rules for property-related services
  • Experience in repairs and maintenance work
  • Understanding of health and safety obligations
  • Specialist knowledge in construction technology and materials
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make sound judgements, find solutions, and manage risk
  • One-team, team-spirited organizational culture ethos
  • Leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and develop staff
  • Full UK driving license required
