Street Works Officer (SO2)

Who You Are

We are looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Street Works Officer to ensure street and highway works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legislation and permit conditions.

What the Job Involves

• Inspect street works to ensure compliance with NRSWA, permit schemes, and codes of practice
• Identify defects, non-compliance, and safety issues, taking appropriate enforcement action
• Liaise with utility companies, contractors, and internal teams
• Record inspections and findings accurately using electronic systems
• Support the coordination of works to minimise disruption to the public

Skills

• Experience in street works, highways, or inspection roles
• Good working knowledge of NRSWA and associated regulations
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage inspections across the network
