Who You Are

You are a qualified and accredited social work professional with current registration with Social Work England. You have a solid knowledge of the Children Acts, Every Child Matters agenda, and Care Planning Regulations. Experience in social care settings, particularly within children's services, is essential, with advanced roles requiring a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience. You are committed to shared values and promoting interagency collaboration. Flexibility for occasional work outside regular hours and capability to travel across the service area is required.

What the Job Involves

As a social worker in the Children’s Social Care service, you will manage a caseload that includes Children in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children. You will conduct assessments, formulate and manage care plans, and work with multi-agency partners to ensure positive, timely outcomes for children. The role involves communicating effectively with children, families, and different agencies, ensuring compliance with legislative and policy requirements. You will engage in supervisory duties for less experienced staff and students in more advanced roles. Part of your responsibilities will include safeguarding children and fulfilling all necessary statutory duties required in your role.
