Who You Are
As a SEND Case Officer, you have a strong background in Special Educational Needs (SEN) with comprehensive knowledge of the Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014. You are adept at creating Education Health and Care (EHC) Plans that reflect input from families and professionals and align with national and local SEND policies. You are experienced in managing sensitive situations and negotiations to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
What the Job Involves
The SEND Case Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining Education Health and Care Plans, working closely with families, schools, and partner agencies. You will ensure that children and young people with SEND have access to educational provisions that meet their holistic needs. This role involves collaborating on assessments, planning, and reviews, as well as coordinating service provisions across education, health, and care sectors. You will travel to various educational settings across Camden, managing a caseload and working to improve the quality and impact of SEND service delivery.
