We are looking for caring and reliable individuals who enjoy working with children and young people. Experience with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is a significant advantage. This role is perfect for those returning to work after raising a family, or for partially retired individuals seeking a valuable part-time, term-time position. It's also an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to gain experience in the educational sector.
What the Job Involves
You will assist children and young people, many with additional needs, ensuring their safe and comfortable travel to and from school or college. You'll provide support during the journey, step in to cover for other Passenger Assistants when necessary, and work closely with drivers and schools to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience for everyone.
Work is required Monday to Friday, usually from 07:00–10:00 and 14:00–17:00, during term time only. Hours may vary based on routes and student schedules. You’ll be picked up and dropped off within Plymouth City boundaries. Flexibility is key as cover can range from half a day to extended periods.
