What the Job Involves
The role involves managing a caseload of individuals and carers, conducting assessments, and developing care and support plans tailored to their specific needs. You'll be expected to perform safeguarding enquiries, provide necessary information on costs and welfare rights, and support the community by making arrangements for appropriate services. Additionally, your role will include financial assessments, application of legislation such as the Mental Capacity Act, and representing cases in court as needed. You will also contribute to the development of services, policies, practice, and research within adult social care.
Skills
- Knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and relevant statutory instruments
- Experience in conducting assessments and developing care plans
- Ability to undertake safeguarding adult enquiries
- Competent in assessing mental capacity and making best interests decisions
- Professional qualification in social work with registration
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to focus on people, results, and take ownership
- Works effectively in complex and challenging situations
