Who You Are

As a Building Safety Coordinator, you are committed to ensuring the safety and compliance of high-rise residential buildings within our council housing stock. You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team within the community. You actively contribute to the development and smooth operation of high-rise locations, adhering to local policies, procedures, and legislation.

What the Job Involves

The Building Safety Coordinator oversees building safety through a rigorous inspection regime and collaborates with various stakeholders to maintain safe living environments for residents. Responsibilities include:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring buildings adhere to health & safety legislation and regulations, including the Building Safety Act.
  • Risk Assessments: Conducting regular safety inspections of communal areas and identifying hazards for necessary remedial action.
  • Documentation Management: Maintaining and updating comprehensive records of person centred fire risk assessments (PCFRA).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinating safety-related tasks with housing management, maintenance teams, and external contractors.
  • Resident Communication: Acting as a point of contact for building safety concerns and providing support to residents.
  • Building Safety Administration: Supporting the Building & Fire Safety Team.

Skills
