About the role
Purpose To deliver an innovative, efficient and flexible service that is customer focused, compliant and sustains high levels of excellence and quality. Support NCHA�s objectives of being a leader in providing an excellent maintenance service to NCHA�s tenants and external customers in line with NCHA�s vision of �More Homes, Great Services, Better Lives�.
Main responsibilities Organise and carry out the design, installation, maintenance, testing and repair work for the Association�s managed properties, housing stock and external customers in accordance with agreed targets and procedures; ensuring services are compliant with relevant legislation and regulations.
Manage stock/supplies to ensure works are not delayed.
Complete and return documentation within agreed timescales; updating and maintaining manual and computerised records relating to testing electrical installations etc.
Work in an efficient manner that delivers value for money, identify efficiencies, gaps in service delivery; communicating them to line management.
Use information available to identify customer needs and ensure services are tailored to meet those needs.
Co-ordinate the services of other trades and work with colleagues, contractors and partners to ensure a seamless and excellent service to customers.
Understand your responsibilities under Health & Safety legislation; ensuring that all activities are discharged in a safe manner and risks are minimized at all times.
Keep your line manager informed of any issues or barriers to the effective delivery of your service area /maintenance services at the earliest opportunity and contribute to the development and effective operation of the Team.
Provide relief cover for colleagues and participate in the standby/call-out rota to cover emergency breakdowns.
Understand performance standards for your role to deliver on objectives and targets agreed at performance management meetings.
About the person (criteria used to shortlist applications) Knowledge Qualifications C&G 2382- 2394 as applicable NVQ or equivalent qualification C&G 2391 or equivalent
Skills and experience Extensive, demonstrable post qualification experience in the electrical trade, prerfer social housing experience.
Demonstrable success in the delivery of a variable workload in a customer focused environment and working in a target driven service
Understanding and experience of working to current Health and Safety requirements
Demonstrable excellent communication skills
Ability to use computerised data recording equipment
Personal qualities, values and behaviours An understanding of the needs of people from diverse social, cultural and racial backgrounds
Willingness to promote and adhere to the CLEAR values of NCHA
Other role related requirements A valid driving licence
