What the Job Involves
In this role, you will be responsible for servicing various Council committees, sub-committees, working parties, and other member-level bodies, supporting decision-making processes. You will provide advice to Chairs, members, and officers on governance arrangements and procedural matters. Additionally, you will record meeting decisions, process questions and Council reports, and manage notifications to officers and members regarding Committee decisions. Engaging with quasi-judicial bodies and advising members during these meetings will also be part of your duties, ensuring adherence to legislation and internal procedures. Your role may involve undertaking special projects to enhance the services provided by Democratic Services.
Skills
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of democratic services roles
- Familiarity with modern.gov or committee management systems
- Experience servicing committees and quasi-judicial meetings
- Capability in drafting formal reports and minutes
- Ability to give advice on decision-making and constitutional matters
