Who You Are
You are someone with a good standard of general education, ideally with a knowledge of health and safety in play environments. You have or are willing to obtain an Operational Playground Inspectors Qualification and a current First Aid certificate. Holding a full driver's license is necessary for this role. You are able to work independently, are physically fit, and can handle flexible work hours. Being a good team player and being committed to personal development and training are key aspects of who you are.
What the Job Involves
You will be responsible for visiting playground areas and leisure provisions controlled by Newport City Council on a daily basis. This involves conducting risk assessments and safety inspections to meet European Safety Standards EN1176. Additional responsibilities include opening and closing facilities, maintaining security, ensuring cleanliness and good behavior, conducting basic gardening maintenance, and supporting organized events. You will also ensure that operational and maintenance tasks are completed for the splash park according to risk assessments. Record keeping and statutory testing in NCC buildings will also be part of your routine tasks.
