Role

The Duty Service responds to all referrals received from the MASH , and initiates all assessments and plans for children. The Duty Service has 4 teams , each with a team manager, assistant team manager and 6 social workers.  You will be on duty once every 4 weeks in which you will respond to referrals and complete assessments where necessary. The right candidate must have experience of managing CIN/CP and PLO work ,managing sec 47 investigations and be able to work at a fast pace. We are currently looking for temporary workers while we recruit to permanent posts and can assure the correct support will be provided to you with regular supervision and a practice support team on hand to assist in developing your understanding of St Helens practice standards to achieve outstanding practice. The Duty Team is a short term team so once assessments are competed and a plan established , duty social workers will hold cases for a short term period on CIN with a view to step down, or where longer term support is required, and in cases of CP and PLO these will transfer at the first planning meeting. St Helens work a hybrid way of working and the expectation is you will work a minimum of 2 days a week in the office with the exception being in 5 days when you are on duty.
