About the Role
Join Children Social Care as a Social Worker on a starting salary of £40,833 and receive our Welcome Bonus of £1000 paid in your first month's salary, together with a generous Retention Bonus of:

We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an Assessing Social Worker to join our Kinship Service within Children’s Social Care. Our mission is to empower our children to achieve maximum independence and provide the necessary support to safeguard their well-being. Your expertise is essential to achieving this goal. In this role, your responsibilities will include:
? Conducting complex and comprehensive Assessments - Regulation 24 assessments, and comprehensive connected person/Special Guardianship (SGO) assessments.
? Compiling detailed, analytical reports regarding the carers' capacity to meet the child's physical, emotional, and educational needs. You will present these to the Fostering Panel or directly to court.
? Ensure deadlines are met effectively
? supporting kinship foster carers through the assessment process, helping them understand the Kinship Foster Care landscape, their responsibilities, and available post-order support.
? Working closely with children's social work teams, local authorities, and other multidisciplinary agencies to achieve the best outcomes for the child.
? Participate in supervision and be a team player.
The objective is to provide a kinship service that offers support and long-term assistance to Sutton Special Guardians, thereby promoting stability for children within their care. This role operates within a dynamic and diverse environment, presenting professional challenges while facilitating the expansion of knowledge and skill sets in the practice of children's social care. About Us
The London Borough of Sutton Children’s Services offers a supportive and inclusive environment for its Qualified Social Work staff. Specialist support on challenging cases, regular structured supervision, and an environment that encourages all those to take part and ensure their voices are heard.
Our Locality Teams offer a social work service to children and young people in the Borough who are living with their carers under a kinship arrangement alongside plans under Section 17 or Section 47 of the Children Act 1989. This is achieved by working in partnership with relevant agencies, children and young people and their families. We provide a supported working environment that ensures manageable caseloads, regular supervision, daily management support and an abundance of learning and development opportunities for our Social Workers to grow and flourish. In addition we have a creative and flexible approach to the working week which allows for both home and office working which promotes a work/life balance.
Working with Kingston University and regional partners as part of the Developing Together Social Work Teaching Partnership (SWTP). The partnership offers staff a wide range of pre- and post-qualifying education opportunities to promote continuous learning and development. This includes staff being encouraged to support the practice education of Social Work students and those in the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE). Staff are also given the opportunity to attend conferences, and workshops and have access to research and practice resources to support their ongoing professional development.

About You

In addition, we would expect the following from all suitable candidates:
- To be registered with Social Work England and hold a degree in Social Care or similar.
- Have experience of working in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Have sound knowledge and ability to deliver social work support to service users and their families.
- Ability to communicate complex social issues clearly to both patients and professionals.
- Ability to plan and coordinate social care plans and aspects of patient discharge.

A team member from Kinship team will be going on Maternity leave for a year from teh 15th July . Permission granted from senior management to recruit an agency worker to cover the team members position until her return .
