Organisational information Responsible to: Head of resident Engagement Key relationships/Functional links with: Staff in the resident Invovlement team, Director of Landlord Services officers and heads of service in other housing business units, resident members of the boards, third party organisations providing support to the programme. Main Purpose of Job:
To set up 5 housing management boards ensuring that terms of reference, codes of conduct and confidentiality agreements are drafted agreed and signed
Embed each board creating a collaborative environment and strong bonds in the team of board members with mutual respect for staff and themselves.
Develop the capacity of board members to play a significant role in shaping and scrutinising core services
Ensure that the boards are effective and meaningful in the scrutiny they provide the service recommendations they make and experiences of the participants both staff and residents
Job Activities:
Establish the appropriate admin workflow to ensure full and fair participation across each board, working with board members and services to develop their work programme and support their scrutiny of our services
Develop and commission a bespoke training and induction programme that meets general and group needs as well as individual training needs, working with tenant training bodies, internal departments and VCS groups
Draft reports on work at the boards
Work with service leads for the boards areas of focus to ensure teams are working closely with the boards ensuring the provision of the right information to ensure people can contribute to fair decision making.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level and grade of the post as may be requested from time to time.
Experience and skills We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal skills and able to build trusting relationships with board members and the teams who are reporting to and working with each of the boards, while manging conflict and ensuring good governance. You will be someone who has very strong organisational skills , and excellent report writing skills and experience of using customer insight and user involvement in designing services or shaping improved service delivery.
General information: The post holder will be required to comply with organisation’s policies and procedures. The post holder will be required to work evenings and weekend within the 36 hour working week. The organisation has a no smoking policy. Staff are not permitted to smoke on any of the organisation’s premises nor in any vehicle used on organisation business. This Job Description covers the main duties and responsibilities of the job and will be subject review and amendment, in consultation with the post holder, to meet the changing needs of the organisation. Other activities commensurate with this Job Description may from time to time be undertaken by the post holder.
