Purpose of the Role:
1. To be responsible for completing a range of Electrical Repair & Maintenance work for tenanted and voids properties to a professional standard and highly productive level, acting with minimum supervision and a large degree of self-management.
2. To undertake a range of Electrical repair and maintenance works demonstrating proficient level skills and experience across a range of trades; Carpentry, Plumbing, Decorating, Plastering and Tiling (wall and floor), in addition to a qualified home trade. Using this wide range of skillsets to resolve arising issues during repair and maintenance work, referring only complex or extensive work to the relevant trade specialist.
3. Carry out a range of specified works both as an individual craft professional or as a member of a multi-skilled team, refurbishing properties Undertake inspection activities as directed by Supervisor/Management and when required by management to assist in emergency call outs (for example as a result of bad weather, vandalism, fire etc.) Work should be undertaken using innovative and output focused solutions, assessing risk and benefits to establish solutions.
4. Work in a range of properties throughout the borough, including occupied tenancies and void properties, completing specified works to a high standard of excellence in terms of completion of jobs and with customers/clients.
5. To deliver a consistent standard of excellence in terms of repair and maintenance work. The role holder will be a front-line representative of Enfield, working within the community in customer/client’s homes and other Council properties. This requires the role holder to possess a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
6. To operate all post and service related IT hard and software. Including mobile technology to aid modern ways of working and gathering and recording data for information systems and inventories
7. To comply with customer care guidelines and initiatives and carry out all duties in accordance with the council’s approach to public sector equality duties. To be responsive to priorities based on resident need and vulnerability and corporate policy.
8. To promote and deliver a customer centred service that is responsive to internal and external customer needs, and places resident and key stakeholder’s involvement at the heart of the service.
9. To carry out work in accordance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
10. To participate in a CPD programme, including statutory training, to maintain and improve individual skills, expertise and knowledge.
11. Participate in the emergency service of the division involving standby attendance and working outside normal hours.
12. To plan, identify and allocate required materials and resources whilst maintaining stock impress, plant and equipment to effectively complete required works
13. This is a physically demanding role. The role holder will be expected to climb ladders, use scaffolding, work at heights and in confined spaces, lift and move heavy objects, tools and materials safely and undertake other tasks as necessary for the completion of the work with a high regard to health and safety to themselves and others.
14. To ensure compliance to Health and Safety rules and regulations in all work activities, including: wearing and utilising PPE (Protective Personal Equipment), maintaining the PPE, adhering to method statements and risk assessments, and participating in the development and maintenance of Safe Systems of Work

(a) Post Holder will make cold call appointments daily (number to be determined) in a pre alerted area
(b) Post holder will report daily on repairs completed, repairs needed and safeguarding issues
(c) Post Holder will be responsible for scrutiny of purchased stock and van care
(d) Post holder will attend regular meetings to determine trends and best practice.

4. Communicate with a high degree of accuracy (both written and verbally) to Management/Officer and work colleagues. Providing residents and client officers with technical advice and information relating to the safe operational of the installation, to enable implementation of good practice relating to efficiency and whole life costs.
5. To be responsible for and drive an allocated vehicle fitted with a global positioning satellite (GPS) / fleet management system (Telematics) in line with agreed corporate policy. The role holder is required to ensure that the vehicle is safely and correctly driven and all plant and materials are safely stored. The role holder is also responsible for the content of the vehicle at all times while in their possession and is required to ensure the security of all materials and tools and that no equipment is kept in vehicles over night.
6. Willing to participate in the emergency service of the division involving standby attendance and working outside normal hours.

1. Manage the information collected from site and ensure that there is good proactive communication between the relevant teams and information is provided in the required timescales.
2. Manage stock purchase and keep clear records informing van stock.
3. Consult with the relevant staff within Customer services to inform of safeguarding issues or wrongful use of council stock.
4. Liaise with repairs team to help identify trends or preventative maintenance plans

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of electrical works across a range of domestic properties and electrical projects throughout the borough. Duties will include carrying out electrical testing and inspections, completing certification, and signing off electrical works in accordance with current regulations and standards.

Essential Requirements
Relevant electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, or equivalent).

Good working knowledge of the NHF Schedule of Rates.
