THIS POSITION IS BASED AT RETFORD EDUCATION CENTRE IN BASSETLAW, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE - DN22 7EA - IT IS IMPORTANT FOR ALL APPLICANTS TO CONFIRM THEY ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO TRAVEL TO RETFORD IN NOTTINGHAMSHIRE ON A DAILY BASIS AT THE TIME OF THE APPLICATION. We are looking for an experienced agency social worker to work within a busy assessment team - the position is for 37 hours per week - 5 days per week (8.30am - 5pm). Pay rate is £36ph. Bassetlaw Family Support and Safeguarding Team (FSST) are looking to appoint an agency social worker wto cover maternity leave. We are a team based in Retford, North Nottinghamshire and cover a large rural area. Please be mindful this before applying. The applicant should have prior experience of child and family assessment work, child in need processes and child protection processes, although not essential, knowledge of mosaic systems would be beneficial An experienced child and family assessment social worker is responsible for assessing the needs of children and families, planning and delivering services, and ensuring compliance with statutory and operational standards. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with children, young people, and their families to assess their needs and plan services in accordance with the social work team's service area. Modelling best social work practice and promoting participation in decision-making through effective relationships. Undertaking assessments in accordance with statutory and operational standards, policy, and procedures for the service. Managing a complex workload independently, establishing a network of internal and external colleagues for advice and expertise. Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records safely and confidentially in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures. Producing succinct, well-structured records and reports clearly recording and reporting analysis and judgments. Engaging with colleagues and organizations to identify, assess, plan for, and support the needs of children, young people, and families. This role requires a strong understanding of social work practice, the ability to work collaboratively, and the capacity to manage complex caseloads.
