Legal Practitioner (NJE GR 5)

Who You Are

We are seeking an experienced paralegal to provide legal support in our Planning & Highways Team on a temporary basis. Candidates should have previous paralegal experience, ideally within local government, a working knowledge of planning and/or highways law, and strong organisational, communication and drafting skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and manage competing priorities in a busy legal environment.

What the job involves

The role will involve managing a caseload of routine highways and planning cases under supervision, drafting standard legal documents and correspondence, assisting with planning enforcement and highway-related work, conducting legal research, maintaining case files, and liaising with clients. Additional responsibilities include providing legal advice, guidance & representation, undertaking case work, acting on behalf of customers in legal proceedings, complying with conduct and training standards, identifying changes in law, and developing knowledge of the legal disciplines assigned by managers.
