Overview of the role: The Technical Support Officer plays a key role in the delivery of the licensing service, responsible for managing a wide range of licence applications, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and providing high-quality customer service. Key duties include handling enquiries and applications, engaging with residents, applicants and partner agencies, maintaining accurate records, and supporting Licensing Officers with complex cases.  Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and technical proficiency in following legal processes are essential. Key responsibilities 1.     Assist in the provision and effective operation of high-quality, customer-focused Licensing Service 2.    Manage a wide range of licence application processes in accordance with legal requirements and timescales              from initial enquiry to implementing decisions. 3.    Ensure that the correct fee is paid, applications meet verification requirements and manage the relevant                    consultation process. 4.    Provide operational support to the Licensing Officers dealing with complex applications and appeals, including         site visits to check notices. 5.    Respond to licensing enquiries from residents, businesses, councillors and responsible authorities ensuring a             high-quality timely response 6.    Manage the annual renewal fee process by setting up accounts, ensuring invoices are issued, annual fee paid            and taking enforcement action for non-payment of annual fees. 7.    Maintain an accurate and up to date record of all actions and decision in accordance with standard operating            procedures 8.    Write reports, witness statements, correspondence, take minutes and produce statistics 9.    Providing training and support to other members of the team, including trainees and apprentices 10.    Contributing to service improvements, producing and updating procedure notes 11.    Meet service targets and deadlines, achieve goals and actively participate in meetings, checkins and training               sessions 12.    Undertake any additional duties consistent with the grade and level of responsibility of this position, for which          the holder possesses the required experience and/or training Undertake other duties commensurate to the g            rade of the post Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and policy requirements under GDPR, Health and Safety, Employee Code of Conduct and in your area of expertise by identifying opportunities and risks, and escalating issues as necessary.
