Experienced Court Social Worker – Children’s Services We are seeking a highly experienced Court Social Worker to join our Court Team. This is not a role for someone with limited or occasional court experience. Applicants must have a substantial and demonstrable track record of managing complex public law proceedings from commencement through to conclusion. The successful candidate will have significant experience of: Managing care proceedings and progressing cases confidently through the Public Law Outline and court process. Completing high-quality, evidence-based assessments, including parenting assessments, risk assessments and viability assessments. Permanency planning, including care planning, adoption, Placement Orders, Care Orders and long-term permanence options. Working effectively with children and families while ensuring that all recommendations are child-focused, evidence-based and in the child’s best interests. Meeting court deadlines, producing high-quality statements and care plans, and working collaboratively with Legal Services, Children’s Guardians and partner agencies. Demonstrating sound knowledge of relevant legislation, case law and statutory guidance relating to children in care and court proceedings. Using management supervision effectively, understanding professional accountability, and taking ownership of progressing cases within required timescales.
We are looking for a Social Worker who can confidently pick up existing and new proceedings, understands the expectations of court work, and has a proven history of delivering high-quality practice in this specialist area. Please note: Candidates must be able to evidence their court experience through their employment history and professional references. Applications from Social Workers with only limited or occasional court experience will not be considered.
