Who You Are
A dedicated and responsible individual with a full, clean Class 1 or Class 2 HGV license, or a full clean driving license for non-LGV drivers. You have at least 2 years of experience working in a cleaning, grounds maintenance, waste management, or a related environment. You are committed to equality and diversity in service provision and demonstrate an ability to work without close supervision.
What the job involves
This role involves driving vehicles specified by management, ensuring they are roadworthy, and conducting safety checks. Duties include loading goods and waste, recycling, cleaning the vehicle, attending training sessions, and adhering to health and safety regulations. You will report to a Southwark Cleaning supervisor and contribute to the Department’s objectives related to Health & Safety, Performance Management, and Customer Care Policy. The position requires occasional work outside normal hours and engagement with the public, council officers, and external bodies.
