Responsible for planning and implementing the efficient management of the Council’s property portfolio, i.e. lettings, rent reviews, lease renewals, assignments, forfeiture etc. to ensure that incomes are maximised and business objectives delivered. Oversee the management of the operations of the Council’s corporate portfolio, such as industrial estates/business parks, markets, County Farms, grazing, harbours, retail including Riverside shopping centre etc. Together with the Strategic Property Manager ensure implementation and delivery of the Strategic Asset Management Plan. Supporting internal departments on the annual review and challenge of operational assets requirements, ensuring the portfolio is fit for purpose and meets service delivery needs, seeking to reduce revenue expenditure where feasible. Together with the senior Property leadership team Foster a model of a business partnering approach to property management with internal departments within the authority. Working alongside the Head of Property, Economic Development & Regeneration to ensure asset valuations are carried out in accordance with CIPFA guidance. Contribute to the implementation of business improvements and identification of further opportunities to improve the efficiency of the service. There is full and ongoing responsibility for the supervision of the Property Asset Managers (surveyors). This includes the recruitment and selection of staff, allocating and directing work, performance management, identifying training needs and responding to any matters relating to sickness absence or conduct. e Add JD
