MOST IMPORTANT BIT: Must have experience of statutory work, The Care act, safeguarding, MCA, BIA. Position: Mental Health QSW Location: 7A Woodfield Rd, W9 2NW. Westminster-On site Mainly LIMITED POTENTIAL TO WORK FROM HOME. Hours: Full-time (36 hours per week) Westminster are included in the MoU for adults social work. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE MANAGER DIRECTLY Responsibilities: Conduct assessments and make decisions under the Mental Health Act 1983. Act as a key member of the Mental Health Act assessment team, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practice guidelines. Collaborate with individuals, families, carers, and relevant professionals to formulate care plans and provide appropriate support. Advocate for the rights and preferences of individuals within the legal framework. Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals experiencing mental health crises. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, decisions, and interventions. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of holistic care plans. Keep abreast of changes in mental health legislation and participate in ongoing professional development activities. Requirements: Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., Social Work England).
Demonstrated experience working within a mental health setting, in a statutory mental health service. Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and associated legislation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and teams. MOST IMPORTANT BIT: Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in complex situations. Commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of individuals with mental health needs.* Note: This role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and may require participation in on-call duties.
