Who You Are
You are a qualified and registered Senior Social Worker with significant post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care. Your background includes duty and assessment work, child protection investigations, and child in need planning. You possess strong report writing and assessment skills, and you are adept at managing complex caseloads and competing priorities. You have experience working with children affected by neglect, domestic abuse, parental mental health concerns, substance misuse, and exploitation and safeguarding risks. Furthermore, you have experience in a Senior Social Worker, Advanced Practitioner, or Practice Lead role.
What the job involves
This role is part of the Children's Duty Team, the front door to Children's Social Care. You will respond to safeguarding concerns, undertake assessments, manage risk, and make timely decisions to protect vulnerable children and young people. Key responsibilities include managing complex Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Public Law cases, conducting home visits, completing Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries, and working collaboratively with partner agencies. You will provide leadership and practice guidance to less experienced social workers, participate in service development initiatives, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
