As a Commercial Manager, you could lead complex, high-value procurement projects, often exceeding £20 million, while helping shape the future of housing services across the borough.
What You'll Be Doing
As part of our procurement community, you may have the opportunity to:
- Lead major Housing procurement projects from initiation through to contract mobilisation.
- Deliver high-value and high-risk tenders in line with procurement legislation and best practice.
- Provide strategic commercial advice to commissioners, budget holders and senior stakeholders.
- Develop procurement strategies that maximise value, innovation and market participation.
- Work closely with Legal, Finance and operational teams to deliver successful procurement outcomes.
- Drive efficiencies, savings and service improvements through effective procurement activity.
- Embed sustainability, social value and community benefits into procurement programmes.
- Manage commercial, financial and operational risk throughout the procurement lifecycle.
We're Interested In Hearing From You If You Have:
- Significant experience within procurement, commissioning, commercial or finance environments.
- A strong track record of delivering complex procurement exercises and tender programmes.
- Experience within Housing procurement, construction, property or related categories.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Excellent commercial awareness and procurement expertise.
- Knowledge of UK public sector procurement regulations and governance requirements.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Experience developing specifications, procurement documentation and evaluation methodologies.
Qualifications
Ideally, you'll be:
- Degree qualified (or able to demonstrate equivalent experience).
- CIPS Level 5 or Level 6 qualified, working towards qualification, or possess equivalent procurement expertise.
- Committed to continuous professional development.
