Who You Are
You are a dedicated professional with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in settings with people who have disabilities and/or SEND. You hold an NVQ level 5 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent SEND teaching qualification. You have a solid understanding of Health & Safety, Safeguarding Children & Adults, the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and Positive Behavioral Support (PBS).
What the job involves
The position involves working as a Support Coordinator at the Southwark Resource Centre, where you'll support individuals with various needs, such as learning disabilities, autism, sensory needs, physical disabilities or dementia, to engage in activities maximizing their independence and wellbeing. You will coordinate and lead by example, assist the centre manager, supervise staff, manage health and safety, and develop person-centred support plans. Furthermore, you will engage with other professionals, community services, provide carer respite and oversee staff performance management while promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.
