Who You Are
You are someone who can provide housing advice and discuss suitable housing options with individuals experiencing housing issues. You possess a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on homelessness, as a significant percentage of temporary accommodation cases arise from these circumstances.
What the Job Involves
Your responsibilities include making inquiries and reaching decisions on homelessness applications under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended). You will actively manage a caseload of applicants living in Temporary Accommodation under a relief duty, ensuring the homelessness journey is completed through either conversion to main housing duty, or a decision of not priority or intentional homelessness. Additionally, you will work collaboratively within a team to deliver effective housing advice to the local community.
