You are an experienced childcare lawyer solicitor with a practising certificate, bringing expertise in children's law, including care proceedings and family law matters. You possess the ability to provide clear legal advice and handle complex legal issues.
What the job involves
This interim role involves providing expert advice and representation in care proceedings and family law matters. You will be responsible for managing legal queries from the Children and Young People Services Directorate and conducting research to address complex legal issues affecting operational matters. Collaboration with the legal team to ensure compliance with Law Society Professional Standards and Lexcel accreditation is also a key part of the role. The role is hybrid, with Mondays based in County Hall in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, and the other four days from home. Candidates in or near the Harrogate area are preferred, but fully remote work can be considered. The placement is anticipated to last 3-6 months.
