Who You Are
You are a qualified and experienced social worker with a registration from Social Work England. You have significant experience in safeguarding, child protection, and risk assessment, and are knowledgeable about relevant legislation and children's social care processes.
What the job involves
As an EDT Advanced Practitioner, you will manage emergency referrals, conduct complex assessments, and lead child protection strategy discussions outside normal office hours. You will coordinate with partner agencies to implement emergency care plans, provide expert guidance, and represent the Local Authority in statutory forums. Mentoring and support for new social workers form part of your role, all while maintaining precise records for effective service delivery.
Skills
- Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent)
- Registered with Social Work England
- Minimum three years' post-qualification experience
- Knowledge of safeguarding and risk assessment
- Strong communication and partnership skills
- Ability to make decisions in high-pressure situations
- Experience managing complex cases
