Who You Are
We are looking for a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with experience in statutory social work and completing complex assessments. Experience of undertaking fostering assessments will be a significant advantage. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will present high-quality reports to panels and work effectively with other agencies. You’ll also need sound IT skills, resilience under pressure, and the ability to use initiative to solve problems.
What the job involves
Your role as an Assessment Social Worker will involve working closely with applicants to assess their strengths and vulnerabilities as foster carers. You’ll guide them through the rewards and challenges of fostering, support carers in developing therapeutic parenting approaches, and safeguard children within their family networks. Responsibilities include completing a range of assessments, collaborating with children's social workers and other professionals, and helping shape services for kinship carers.
