Who You Are
As a Children's Social Worker, you are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You possess a recognised Social Work qualification and professional registration, with sound knowledge of child care legislation and safeguarding procedures. You have experience working with children and families in complex situations, demonstrating strong assessment, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills. You are committed to building effective relationships and achieving safe and positive outcomes for children.
What the Job Involves
The role involves managing a complex caseload of children and families, conducting statutory assessments, and formulating and implementing plans to improve outcomes. You will coordinate multi-agency interventions, work with children in need, and those subject to child protection plans, and represent the local authority in legal proceedings. Building effective relationships with children and families is key, ensuring their experiences are reflected in assessments and decision-making. You will work closely with education, health services, police, and other agencies, maintaining high-quality case records and contributing to service development.
