Social Worker (Childrens) (Grade 10)
Somerset Council
Role
Who You Are
At Somerset Council, we are seeking two experienced Social Workers to join our Family Safeguarding South Somerset team. With a passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people and families, you will be innovative and creative, working in a strengths-based way. You need to be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England for at least three years, with experience in working with children and families.
What the job involves
These roles involve focusing on Child in Need work to prevent unnecessary escalation by working intensively with families at an earlier stage. You will manage a manageable caseload, working with children and their families to ensure they receive the help they need. Utilizing the Family Safeguarding model, you will work alongside adult-focussed practitioners to inform assessments and plans. You will be part of a supportive environment, engaging in direct work with children and building strong relationships. The role is based in Yeovil, requiring 3 days of office work per week, with travel necessitating a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
