Who You Are

You are an experienced social worker with a professional qualification in social work, registered with the Health & Care Professions Council. You possess up-to-date professional and technical expertise in relation to children, with a thorough knowledge of complex social work theories, values, and relevant legislation. You have significant experience managing complex cases and working directly with children to assess their needs and risks. Your approach is empathetic and creative, focusing on using relationships for positive change and systemic, compassionate engagement with families.

What the Job Involves

Your role involves implementing positive change in complex cases involving children, families, and carers, using systemic social work methods and tools. You will manage a high-need, complex caseload with autonomy, developing and implementing casework, and collaborating with partner agencies to ensure children's protection and care needs are met. You will carry out safeguarding enquiries, prepare applications and reports for court, and represent the Council in legal matters. Your responsibilities also include contributing to policy development, working flexibly across disciplines, and maintaining high professional standards and compliance with Council policies.
