Who You Are
As a Reviews Officer, you are expected to have a minimum of 2-4 years of continuous experience conducting reviews under section 202 of the Housing Act 1996 Part VII or making offers of accommodation under the same Act. You possess strong capabilities in managing accommodation placement teams and have substantial experience in the homelessness and housing services sector.
What the Job Involves
The role involves conducting statutory s.202 homelessness reviews under the Housing Act 1996. You will review decisions regarding duty owed, suitability, priority need, intentionality, and local connection. You will apply the Homelessness Code of Guidance, Review Regulations, and relevant case law, drafting clear, legally defensible review decision letters within statutory timescales. The role requires working collaboratively with Housing Options & Support teams, Legal Services, and partner agencies, while monitoring compliance and contributing to service improvements.
