The experienced Social Worker for adults supports the delivery of health and social care functions for adults and carers in Wirral. The role focuses on personalisation, inclusion pathways, and a strengths-based practice aligned with the Care Act 2014. Supervision of newly qualified social workers and care navigators is included.
What the Job Involves
This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting adult social care services, participating in safeguarding processes, undertaking needs assessments and Best Interest assessments related to Deprivation of Liberties, and preventing hospital admissions. Responsibilities include maintaining professional standards, engaging with community initiatives, organising strategy meetings, and contributing to professional development.
Skills
- Social Work qualification e.g., Degree or DipSW
- Registration with Social Work England
- Experience with vulnerable adults and complex needs
- Knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Health Act 1983
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Capability in IT and information technology
- Ability to manage fluctuating caseloads
- Critical reflection and analysis skills
- Experience supporting and leading others
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
