Who You Are
To provide high-quality social work leadership within SK FAST, holding a complex caseload while supporting and developing practitioners to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
What the job involves
- Hold and manage a reduced, highly complex caseload.
- Provide practice leadership, coaching and mentoring to social workers.
- Support high-quality assessments, planning and intervention for children and families.
- Lead on complex Child Protection, Child in Need, PLO and court cases.
- Promote strengths-based, relationship-focused and child-centred practice.
- Undertake case audits and support quality improvement activity.
- Support practitioners with risk assessment, decision making and permanency planning.
- Contribute to service development and implementation of improvement plans.
- Work effectively with partner agencies to safeguard children and improve outcomes.
Skills
- Social Work England registration
- Qualified Social Worker with significant post-qualifying experience in children's social care
- Strong experience of Child Protection, Child in Need, PLO and Care Proceedings
- Excellent assessment, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to coach, support and challenge practitioners to improve practice
- Strong understanding of legislation, statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures
