An Independent Safeguarding & Reviewing Officer possessing extensive and expert knowledge of safeguarding systems and services. You should have a degree or postgraduate qualification, preferably as a Registered Social Worker, and a commitment to continuous professional development. Experience in managing change, promoting innovation, and providing high-quality advice to internal and external partners is crucial.
What the job involves
Your role will be to monitor, assess, and scrutinize the authority's function in reviews, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. You will act as an independent chair for various child protection meetings, lead inter-agency coordination, and manage safeguarding plans. Additionally, you will develop and deliver training, manage a small team, and act as a liaison to ensure that the voice of the child is heard in decision-making processes.
