Role

Who You Are We are seeking individuals who enjoy working with children and young people, with an emphasis on those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is ideal for individuals returning to the workforce after a break or those who are partially retired. It offers a rewarding opportunity for anyone looking to support children and young adults in accessing their educational settings.
What the job involves

Your role as a Passenger Assistant will involve supporting students during their journeys to ensure their safety and comfort. You will step in to cover for Passenger Assistants who are unavailable and work closely with drivers and schools to make each journey smooth and stress-free. Cover is required Monday to Friday, primarily between the hours of 07:00–10:00 and 14:00–17:00, term-time only. You will be picked up from and dropped off at home after the route.

You should reside within the Plymouth City boundaries or be able to reach a pickup point within those boundaries independently. Flexibility is essential, as cover can range from half a day to longer periods. The role is advertised as 10 hours per week, but actual hours may vary depending on the route or cover required, with pay based on actual hours worked.
