Who You Are

The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced social worker with a degree in Social Work (CQSW, DipSW, or BA) and registration with the Care Council for Wales or GSCC. You have extensive experience working with Looked After Children and within a fostering service, as well as a deep understanding of child care legislation, care planning, and child protection.

What the Job Involves

The Independent Social Worker (Form F Assessor) is tasked with completing a full British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF) Form F Assessment on prospective foster carers. This includes conducting initial assessment visits, performing in-depth interviews, evaluating references, and completing comprehensive reports. You will coordinate with Cardiff Children’s Services for administrative matters and ensure that all necessary checks are completed. The role requires attending regular meetings for progress discussions and presenting assessments to the Cardiff Children’s Services Panel.
