Who You Are
You are a qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advisor with a Level 3 Accredited Qualification in supporting victims of domestic abuse. You possess a minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience, and have an enhanced DBS.
What the Job Involves
This role requires you to provide high-quality, independent, and trauma-informed support to victims of domestic abuse who are at risk of harm. You will work across statutory and community settings to ensure victims' safety, advocate for their needs, and support them through the criminal justice system and other relevant services. You will play a key role in developing Barnet’s model of domestic abuse intervention in line with the Council’s Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy. Additionally, you will contribute to setting up and delivering a highly effective Barnet Domestic Abuse Support Hub (BDASH), managing a caseload within a framework of appropriate supervision.
Skills
- Level 3 regulated qualification in supporting abuse victims
- Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience
- Demonstrable knowledge of domestic abuse legislation
- Experience with risk assessment tools and safety planning
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice
