The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in Trading Standards. You possess a Professional CTSI Trading Standards qualification, as well as a university degree. You are capable of representing the Trading Standards Service at meetings and leading regional initiatives. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you have the ability to influence others and work with minimal supervision. You are also knowledgeable about current and proposed Trading Standards legislation and statutory guidance.
What the Job Involves
This role requires you to carry out criminal compliance enforcement activities and investigations into complex and serious breaches of trading standards legislation. You will be responsible for undertaking inspections, surveys, and recommending appropriate enforcement activity. You will engage in complex projects, prepare reports, conduct interviews, and enforce relevant legislation. Additionally, you will contribute to the management of the service by supervising, mentoring, and providing guidance to less experienced colleagues. You will also assist in strategic and policy development, participate in partnership working, and represent the Trading Standards Service at various meetings and initiatives.
