Who You Are
A committed and flexible individual with effective communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written. You should have a strong understanding of the rights and needs of people with disabilities and how to promote their independence and dignity. Experience in a residential or community care setting is desirable.
What the job involves
As a Support Worker, you will assist people using the service with personal care and physical tasks, such as dressing, washing, and meals, while fostering a supportive atmosphere. Social duties include helping to maintain contact with family and community, encouraging social activities, and maintaining care plans and records. You will also distribute medication, participate in staff meetings, and undertake health and safety duties for vulnerable people.
