What the Job Involves

To deliver high-quality statutory social work services to children, young people, and their families, ensuring that children are safeguarded and achieve positive outcomes. The Senior Social Worker will manage a complex caseload, provide practice leadership within the team, support the development of less experienced practitioners, and contribute to the Local Authority's corporate parenting and safeguarding responsibilities. Responsibilities include holding a complex caseload, undertaking high-quality assessments and care planning, leading conferences and reviews, preparing reports, and collaborating with partner agencies to safeguard children.

Skills

• Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
• Post-qualifying experience in Children's Social Care
• Experience with Child Protection and Children in Care
• Strong assessment and report-writing skills
• Ability to manage complex risk
• Mentoring experience
• Knowledge of permanence planning, fostering, and adoption
• Commitment to continuous improvement
