Who You Are
The ideal candidate is experienced in local authority Housing Solutions or Homelessness Service with a strong understanding of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. You possess excellent case management, decision-making, and customer service skills.
What the job involves
The role involves managing a caseload of homelessness applications, completing assessments and Personalised Housing Plans. Responsibilities include making statutory decisions and working with applicants to prevent and relieve homelessness. The postholder will develop and manage Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) and work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to secure sustainable housing outcomes for residents at risk of homelessness.
Skills
- Experience in housing solutions or homelessness services
- Knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
- Case management and decision-making
- Customer service excellence
- Experience using housing case management systems
- Ability to conduct detailed housing needs assessments
- Understanding of homelessness legislation
- Strong communication and relationship-building
