Who You Are
You are a knowledgeable and motivated individual with experience in street works, highways, or inspection roles. You have good working knowledge of NRSWA and associated regulations. You have strong attention to detail and communication skills and the ability to work independently and manage inspections across the network.
What the job involves
As a Street Works Officer, you will ensure street and highway works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with legislation and permit conditions. You will inspect street works to ensure compliance with NRSWA, permit schemes, and codes of practice. Identifying defects, non-compliance, and safety issues will be a part of your daily routine, with you taking appropriate enforcement action where necessary. Additionally, you will liaise with utility companies, contractors, and internal teams and record inspections and findings accurately using electronic systems. You will support the coordination of works to minimise disruption to the public.
