Who You Are
You are an expert in building safety and compliance with profound knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. You have relevant experience in managing Building Safety Case Reports, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and supporting continuous safety improvements. You possess a CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management (or working towards), and you are eligible for relevant professional memberships.
What the job involves
The Building Safety Manager will provide professional leadership and assurance in the management of building safety for Lambeth Council’s HRBs. You will ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, along with associated statutory guidance. You will develop, maintain and monitor Building Safety Cases and Building Safety Case Reports, coordinate resident engagement on safety matters, and act as a key point of contact between internal departments, residents, and external regulators.
Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Knowledge of safety case principles, building control processes and housing health and safety compliance
- Coordination of multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience with resident and stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrable ability in driving safety improvements
- Mentoring or supporting operational housing teams
- Professional advice and guidance to colleagues and managers on all aspects of fire and building safety compliance
- CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management (or working towards)
- Membership (or eligibility for membership) of one or more relevant professional bodies
