Who You Are
You are a highly experienced and registered social worker, keen to make a difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. Previous experience in legal works, along with experience in carrying out statutory assessments, reviews, and safeguarding adults are essential. Ideally, you have a BSc in Social Work and are registered with Social Work England.
What the job involves
The role involves working in the East Locality Learning Disability Adults Team, providing care and support to assessed individuals with learning disabilities. Responsibilities include carrying out the Care Act assessments, annual reviews and unscheduled reviews, conducting joint initial assessments with health to determine eligibility for HLDP, case management, legal works, and more. The role also involves safeguarding and carrying out MCA's in cases where there are doubts about capacity. It also expects you to manage the finances of the individual where needed. The role operates on a hybrid working model with 2 days in-office and 3 days from home, with community visits carried out weekly.
