Family Help Practitioner – Housing (PO1)

Enfield Council

Who You Are

We are seeking an experienced Family Practitioner to join our newly developed team at Enfield. You will engage with families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to varying reasons. Ideally, you are knowledgeable about housing legislation, with a passion for working collaboratively to influence positive outcomes for children and their families. Committed and caring, you thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy problem-solving and value active listening and learning.

What the Job Involves

As a Family Help Practitioner, you will provide holistic assessments of families, coordinating support packages for children and families below the statutory child protection threshold. Your role will involve empowering families to address challenging behaviors, improve relationships, and support educational outcomes. You will work in partnership with family networks and other professionals to coordinate sustainable plans. This hybrid role requires you to be in the office three days a week, participate in a duty rota, and support colleagues' induction and training. Flexibility is imperative, with occasional meeting requirements outside of regular working hours.

  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Ability to travel within the borough
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
