What the Job Involves

Westminster City Council is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join our Food and Health & Safety Team. This role involves numerous responsibilities, including:

• Managing a health and safety caseload and ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Conducting reactive visits and investigating accidents under RIDDOR.
• Reviewing risk assessments and investigating complaints and health & safety concerns.
• Liaising with businesses, landlords, and stakeholders to promote compliance.
• Providing expert advice and taking enforcement action on health and safety matters.

Skills

• Environmental Health Degree or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in health and safety investigations and RIDDOR cases
• Strong understanding of local authority health & safety regulations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to investigate, analyze, and provide solutions to problems
• Negotiation skills and assertiveness
