You are an experienced Service Manager capable of leading, supervising, and supporting team managers within the Leaving Care Service. You possess a deep understanding of social work standards, laws, statutory guidance, and local policies. You are adept at working in high-stress environments, with extensive experience in child protection, managing risk, and decision-making regarding care proceedings.
What the Job Involves
Your role involves overseeing all aspects of the Leaving Care Service, maintaining staff levels, and ensuring the ongoing learning and development of your team. You are responsible for risk management, promoting the Signs of Safety practice model, and ensuring adherence to legal and statutory guidelines. You will contribute to service improvement strategies and lead change initiatives, offering specialist advice in child protection and managing legal processes as necessary.
Skills
- Experience in statutory child protection settings
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Signs of Safety practice model
- Understanding of relevant laws and statutory guidance
- Proficient in IT systems (case recording, email, etc.)
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Capability to manage budgets and resource allocation
- Ability to develop and sustain multi-agency networks
