What the Job Involves
The Advanced Practitioner role involves the management of a caseload comprised of the most complex cases, requiring close collaboration with children, families, and other agencies to create effective care packages. You will conduct risk assessments, provide emergency interventions, and support multidisciplinary teams. Your responsibilities include co-working with social workers on complex cases, mentoring new staff, representing the local authority in court cases, and leading professional development activities within your team. You will also engage in policy and service development work and maintain awareness of professional standards, promoting best practice throughout the directorate.
Skills
- Recognized qualification in Social Work (Dip SW / CQSW / CSS)
- Registered with HCPC
- Completed Post Qualification module
- Minimum three years post-qualified social work experience
- In-depth knowledge of care assessment and planning
- Understanding of relevant legislation and statutory frameworks
- Advanced report writing and communication skills
- Proficient IT skills
- Coaching and mentoring skills
