Who You Are

You are a committed and skilled social worker dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in need of help or protection. With a focus on building positive and respectful relationships with families, you aim to support children in safe environments. You possess a proficient ability to communicate effectively in English, influencing others to coordinate services for child safety and wellbeing. Experience and understanding of permanence planning, as well as working with cases from proceedings to adoption, is essential.

What the job involves

Your role as a Social Worker within the Children's Services team involves managing and supporting children in need of help or protection. This includes engaging with and developing quality life-story work with Looked After Children, ensuring they understand their family history and story. You will work within the Signs of Safety practice model, assessing risks, undertaking visits, and collaborating with the family and professional networks to provide the best support. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing caseloads, coordinating support plans, reviewing progress, chairing meetings, and making recommendations about legal actions if necessary.
